Lingfield Tips: Peterhouse
Stepped up in trip after he struggled to go the early pace over 7f but finished strongly. Godolphin have a 35.6% strike rate on the AW this winter.
Godolphin are enjoying an excellent winter on the all-weather and Peterhouse can add to their ever growing list of winners in the 3.00 Lingfield. The boys in blue have enjoyed an all-weather strike rate in excess of 33% in each of the last four months.
Peterhouse was well beaten on his first two starts but shaped encouragingly last time at Lingfield.
He couldn’t go the early tempo over 7f, not helped by a slow start but he stuck to his task well and was the third fastest finisher in the race, clocking 23.6s for the final 2f.
His performance screamed ‘middle-distance’ and it’s no surprise to see him tested over 10f this afternoon.
Rated 65 there’s plenty of scope in his handicap mark and it shouldn’t be long before John Gosden gets him into the winner’s enclosure.
