Lingfield Tips: Mr Optimistic
Looked a big danger on his last start before interference. Change of yard could spark further improvement.
The 12.30 Lingfield is basement level fare, but rated in the mid-80s just a year ago, Mr Optimistic looks dangerously well handicapped if he can regain some of his old sparkle.
Last time out at Wolverhampton he was travelling well until he was wiped out by the stricken Crown Dependency. Previously he’d shown bright pace over 7f at Kempton before tiring in the last furlong.
Back to 6f and having his first start for Paul Howling, there’s been enough encouragement in recent efforts to suggest he doesn’t need to improve much to win a race of this calibre. At 7/1 (Stan James), the change of yard could produce an immediate result.
