Lingfield Tips: Mezzotint
An exciting prospect. Won his last start on turf but an even better horse on the all-weather.
The 2.25 Lingfield is a good quality sprint and i’m excited to see what Mezzotint is capable of. On his last start he won a class 2 handicap at Windsor in a decent time for the grade, holding off the useful Nassau Storm.
He’s been off the track since, possibly saved for a winter campaign. A move that would make sense because his record on the all-weather is excellent; 2 wins and 2 second places from 4 starts.
I imagine connections will have one eye on sending him to Dubai this winter but rated 90 he probably needs at least one more victory for an invite.
If he builds on his last performance, and having only his 9th start today that is a reasonable assumption, he could prove too good for the opposition at 5/2 (Stan James).
