Lingfield Tips: Mezzotint
Last race best ignored after he got worked up in the preliminaries and blew the start.
Mezzotint was well beaten when I tipped him at Lingfield but I’m giving him a second chance in the 5.20 Wolverhampton.
In fairness to the horse nothing went right for him last time out. He got worked up in the preliminaries and then blew the start. In a race where the pace held up his chances were gone in the first 100 yards.
Marco Botti’s 3-year-old is better judged on his performances in the summer, when he looked an exciting sprint prospect. He won a decent class 2 handicap at Windsor on his penultimate start, and a return to that level of form can see him gain compensation at 11/4 (Blue Square).
