Lingfield Tips: Mary’s Pet
Experienced jockey taking over from apprentice suggests big run expected.
With the new Lingfield surface favouring front-runners there is a good chance that Mary’s Pet makes all in the 2.00.
Last time out she was ridden forcefully from the gates to try and make all but her inexperienced jockey didn’t judge the pace correctly and went too fast. This misjudgement probably wasn’t the only reason she lost as 7f stretches her stamina anyway.
The encouraging aspect of that performance was that she retains plenty of early pace and dropped back in trip she can utilise it more effectively with William Carson taking the ride.
The cheek-pieces are also back on, left off last time, and at 8/1 (Sportingbet) she looks the value bet.
