Lingfield Tips: Lujeanie
Cheek-pieces and the track can see him turnaround the form with the favourite.
After two consecutive second places, Lujeanie can get his head in front in the 1.00 Lingfield.
Two starts ago he ran a fine race over an inadequate 5f, and then he was unfortunate to bump into the progressive Forest Edge on his last start, who has won again since.
The key to this race is whether Lujeanie can turnaround a 3-length defeat at the hands of Noverre To Go, three starts ago. The bookmakers don’t think so but they have overlooked some important factors.
When the last two met Lujeanie wasn’t wearing his usual cheek-pieces, they’ve been on for all five of his career victories and are a back on today. Secondly, Noverre To Go isn’t nearly as good at Lingfield.
His trainer David Evans said after his last win that he was better suited to Kempton and Wolverhampton and that is correct. Noverre To Go’s best Racing Post Ratings at the tracks are 94 and 96 respectively, but he’s only mustered a best of 86 at Lingfield, and was well beaten on his last start here.
With a potential turnaround in form, Lujeanie is the value at 4/1 (William Hill).
