Lingfield Tips: Jersey Bull

Was a fair performer as a 2-year-old and has shown glimpses of ability on his last couple of starts.

Jersey Bull is certainly no world-beater but he is a fair price for the 2.00 Lingfield and worth a speculative wager.

The 3-year-old hasn’t troubled the judge on his last two starts but he hasn’t been beaten fair, each time making eye-catching progress from the rear before his run flattens out towards the line.

Jersey Bull clocked a decent time for the grade on his last start at Kempton and covered the final 3f in 35.9s, the fastest closing sectional of the race.

He ran a similar type of race on his penultimate start but we didn’t see his full ability because he was badly hampered in the final furlong.

He seems to have only one burst of acceleration but that might be enough in this low grade. Michael Madgwick has done a terrific job with Multitask, a similar type of horse and he might just be getting to grips with his latest recruit.
