Lingfield Tips: Ilzam
Ran a career best when winning a decent handicap last time. Earned a good speed rating and Ryan Moore on board today.
Ilzam has been running well on the all-weather this winter but found an unexpected level of improvement to win a competitive class 4 handicap last time out.
Tracking a true gallop, he was travelling notably better than anything around him and put the race to bed with the fastest closing sectional. He earned an adjusted speed rating of 80 for that win and therefore looks well-handicapped off a mark of 77.
In hindsight I shouldn’t be surprised by the improvement in a horse under Marco Botti’s care and the booking of Ryan Moore is another positive.
On New Year’s Eve, Ilzam finished a nose behind North Creek who he re-opposes today 6lbs better off. Having improved since then he can win at 9/4 (Bet365).
