Lingfield Tips: Howyadoingnotsobad

Won three of his last four AW starts over 5f. Conceivably it could be 4/4 if he hadn't gone off too fast at Lingfield.

The market for the 4.30 Lingfield is skewed in favour of the unexposed 3-year-olds but both will need to improve to win this.

Oh So Sassy beat nothing of note on her last start, although an easy winner, whilst Desert Command’s performances have started to plateau.

At a much bigger price I like the chances of Howyadoingnotsobad.

His 5f record on the all-weather is 415461115 with his last defeat coming in a higher grade.

Back in May, he finished fifth beaten only 1.75 lengths in a class 4 handicap but his run deserves upgrading because he went off too fast. According to my sectionals he ran the first 3f approximately 0.4 seconds too quick, that equates to a couple of lengths. If his jockey had gone fractionally slower early in the race Howyadoingnotsobad could have won.

The bad news about Karen George’s 4-year-old is his current form. He was well beaten at Wolverhampton on his last start but in mitigation 6f stretches his stamina and it was his first run in two months.

If he returns to his old form then he could spring a surprise at a massive 28/1 (BetVictor).
