Overpriced on his first all-weather start. His relatives have a 29.8% strike rate on polytrack.
Hoof It might not bet the same horse as when he won the Steward’s Cup in 2011 but he is still a smart sprinter.
He finished third in the Betfred Sprint Cup in September and followed up with a string of consistent performances in Group/Listed company towards the end of the flat season.
At his best on good to firm turf, the soft ground in the autumn wouldn’t have been to his liking therefore it is an interesting move to see connections persist with him during the winter.
Hoof It’s dam has a terrific record on the all-weather; her offspring have a 29.8% strike rate (14-47) on polytrack with £67.25 profit to level stakes.
This will be Hoof It’s first run on an artificial surface but if he is anything like his siblings he should go really well on it. Drawn nicely in stall 1 and with the early pace to race prominently he is a big price at 8/1 (Betfred).
