Lingfield Tips: Double Heaven

Maidens at this time of year can be tricky, there are often useful horses lurking in the line-up but Double Heaven is overpriced on a form line with China Club.

Two lengths separated the pair but I expect Ed Walker’s gelding to turn around the form. He was making his racecourse debut, whereas China Club had the benefit of four runs.

Double Heaven showed greenness in the early part of the race but once the penny dropped he motored home, covering the final 2f in 22.95s, the quickest in the field.

Ed Walker describes him on his website as ‘a big, immature baby but has shown ability and is hopefully one to look forward to for the season ahead.’

With a race under his belt I expect he will improve enough to beat China Club and that could be enough for the win.
