Lingfield Tips: Dorback
Did well to win when held-up off a slow pace on a speed-favouring track.
We should get a decent gallop in the 2.25 Lingfield and that could set up the race for a rejuvenated Dorback.
Once rated in the mid-90s with Henry Candy, the 5-year-old seems back in form under the care of Dandy Nicholls. After a couple of pipe openers on turf he ran a cracking race to win at Southwell nine days ago.
Sat behind the leaders, he was one of those rare winners at Southwell that comes from off the pace. Sectional timings show the first 3f were run at a crawl, therefore Dorback did exceptionally well to quicken and come from behind in a race that should have favoured front-runners.
Winning against a pace bias at Southwell is a decent performance and he is value at 9/2 (William Hill) on a track that should suit him better.
