Lingfield Tips: Discreet Hero
Won at Lingfield in impressive fashion for his new trainer clocking a 21.9s closing sectional, the fastest on the card.
Discreet Hero lived up to his name early in his career but he has started to flourish under the care of Simon Crisford.
His first start for his new trainer can be ignored, it came on heavy ground at Lingfield and he raced up the wrong part of the track.
Dropped to 5f and switched to the all-weather for his second start brought about a marked improvement. Restrained from a wide draw, he travelled supremely well and despite a troubled passage, he won the race under a hands and heels ride.
Visually it was impressive and the clock told a similar story. Quickening off a solid gallop, he covered the final 2f in a rapid 21.9s earning an adjusted speed rating of 75.
He went up 8lbs for his win but will still be competitive off a mark of 74. He is an improving horse, with a good turn of foot and we should expect more heroics in the 1.40 Lingfield.
