Lingfield Racing Tips: Close To The Edge
Ran consistently quick times towards the end of the turf season. Stable in good form and would expect her to go well again.
With Sir Geoffrey and Billy Red in the line-up we should get a good pace setting the race up for closers in the 2.55 at Lingfield. Close To The Edge looks like the horse to capitalise on the way the race is run.
Towards the end of the season she was starting to string together a good set of performances. She won a seven furlong handicap at Wolverhampton in a good time, despite being hampered in the straight. She followed this up with an equally good run at Pontefract where she was forced to race wide around the bend. She was only beaten two lengths again in a fast time.
Trainer Alan McCabe is enjoying an excellent autumn, with six winners in November and a 16% strike rate. With his string in such fine form, Close To The Edge looks the best bet at 13/2 with Stan James.
