Lingfield Tips: Clear Praise

Clear Praise has done most of his winning over 6f but given the pace scenario in the 3.35 Lingfield he could triumph over the minimum trip.

Clear Praise was only beaten by 3.5 lengths last time he raced over course and distance and that was despite not getting the best of rides.

After a slow start, Tomas Harrigan seemed to accept his fate and sat in rear as the leaders ran away with the race. That looked a mistake when Clear Praise picked up at the finish, covering the final 2f in a rapid 21.9s and making up almost 8 lengths on the leaders.

If Tomas Harrigan had been slightly bolder in his approach, Clear Praise might have gone close to winning but judging pace is a difficult skill, especially for an inexperienced jockey.

The big difference could be the drop in class. Clear Praise is 5/11 in class 5 handicaps and with the race run to suit, he can win at 15/2 (Paddy Power).
