Lingfield Tips: Caminel
Rapid 21.8s closing sectional last time at Lingfield and although the track was riding fast it was still a good performance for the grade.
Clock-watchers might be surprised to find out Caminel ran one of the fastest 2f sectionals at Lingfield this winter (21.8s), in a class 6 handicap.
It should be noted the track was riding fast but in relative terms, it was still one of the best performances on the card; a card that included two class 3 and a class 4 contest.
Caminel flew home from the rear in a steadily run contest (107.4% finishing speed) and was value for a couple more lengths than her half-length victory implied.
The 4-year-old is relatively lightly raced so sudden improvement isn’t a complete shock but more importantly her performance coincided with an upturn in form of the Jeremy Gask yard, who up until December had endured a quiet year.
