Lingfield Tips: Avertor
Finished 3.75 lengths behind Exceedexpectations last time after setting up the race but has a better draw and a 15lbs pull with the favourite.
The 12.30 Lingfield is billed as a two-horse race in the betting but we shouldn’t discount Avertor.
Last time out he set a strong gallop, which meant he was slowing down in the final 2f as the tank emptied.
Exceedexpectations finished 3.75 lengths ahead of him that day, having impressively tracked the strong pace but there are several reasons why the form could turn around.
Firstly, Avertor has a much better draw. In stall 1 he should get an easy lead, whilst Exceedexpectations might struggle to get a good position from wide in stall 9.
Secondly, Avertor enjoys a 15lbs pull at the weights.
If Liam Jones can conserve some energy for the finish, Avertor could spring a minor surprise at 13/2 (William Hill).
