Lingfield Tips: African Beat
Carried wide when trying to close from rear in a steadily run race. Best horse on the day and back in same grade.
John Gosden has been firing in winners all winter on the all-weather but he’s hit a purple patch in the last fortnight with five winners and four seconds from just 13 runners.
African Beat is one of the lower rated horses off a mark of 75 and although no world beater, she can win a little race like the 4.15 Lingfield.
Last time out she had to challenge wide, from the rear, into a quickening pace and despite clocking the fastest closing sectional she could only manage third place.
Her adjusted speed rating of 68 was nothing special but she was the best horse on the day and can make amends in the same grade.
