Lingfield Tips: Above The Stars
Has been racing in claimers recently but against stronger opposition than this moderate handicap.
Having seemingly tipped Speak The Truth every Saturday since the start of time, I’m going to run the risk of opposing him in the 2.55 Lingfield.
These Blue Square Sprints are extremely competitive and it pays to think outside the box. Above The Stars has run some good races this winter and although she seems better over the minimum trip she has won over 6f in her career.
Recently she has been contesting claimers off a light weight, suggesting Richard Fahey was happy to let her go. Normally that would be a negative sign but Jamie Osborne, who is a shrewd operator in claimers and sellers, picked her up on the cheap.
On her last start she split a couple of horses rated in the mid-80s and although she received plenty of weight it was a fair performance. At 14/1 (William Hill) she looks overpriced against more moderate opposition.
