Lingfield Racing Tips: Billy Red
Won his last start over course and distance in a quick time for the grade.
It is a peculiar day’s racing with more all-weather meetings than turf and that seems to have confused some of the betting markets. Billy Red finds himself as one of the outsiders in the 4.40 Lingfield despite winning on his last start over course and distance.
He is a much superior horse on the all-weather therefore I wouldn’t be too concerned about his recent turf form, although he did manage to win at Brighton in June.
On his last polytrack start he was impressive, stumbling at the start he still won in a fast time. He steps up in grade today but this is a weak looking class 4, with most of the runners well below the handicap ceiling. At 12/1 (BetVictor), this proven all-weather performer is overpriced.
