Lingfield Forecast: Temple Road & Novellen Lad
A strong pace could set-up the race for two closers with a potent turn of foot.
With Desert Strike and Roy’s Legacy in the field, the 2.40 Lingfield promises to be run at a strong pace; if they go off too fast it could set-up the race for the closers.
Temple Road and Novellen Lad are both renowned hold-up horses at this level and both made it into my notebook having looked unlucky on their last start.
It is difficult to pick between them, therefore the best play is to put them in a reverse forecast. That means Temple Road and Novellen Lad to finish in the first two in any order.
Novellen Lad ran the final 2f in 22.0s on his last start at Lingfield and Temple Road is capable of going sub-22s on his day. Apart from perhaps Tychaios (poorly drawn) they have the strongest turn of foot in the field.
At time of writing Temple Road was 10/1 and Novellen Lad 5/2.
