Leicester Tip: Mister Manannan
Several inconsistent sorts in the line-up, but our selection has the stand’s rail and the early pace to make full use of it.
The 4.00 at Leicester is a conditions race, which brings together a small bunch of horses off very high handicap marks. The majority of them having been struggling for form and are on the comeback trail. As a result, you would not want to take a short price for any of these horses. At double figure odds, Mister Manannan represents the best value.
Drawn in stall eight, he will be able to race against the rail. In a race with very little pace, his jockey should try to dictate and make all. Last year he showed bits of form that were good enough to win this type of contest, so the ability is there.
Like so many horses, Mister Manannan has struggled since a winter campaign in Dubai. He has had plenty of time to recover and could spring a minor surprise.
