Leicester Tips: Beach Bar
Won a similar race over course and distance almost a year ago off a 1lbs higher mark. Drops down in trip after failing to stay 10f last time.
Having spent the winter in Dubai, Beach Bar’s campaign is out of kilter with many of his rivals. The 5-year-old was given the spring and early summer off and therefore arrives at the backend of October fresher than most.
Last time out he was beaten 3.5 lengths at Salisbury but ran much better than the bare form. He set a very strong pace (101.3% finishing speed) over a 10f trip that stretches his stamina. For the 3.15 Leicester, he steps back in trip and could dictate matters in a small field.
Around this time last year, he won a similar race over course and distance off a mark of 96 and this afternoon races off 95.
