Lay of the Day: Fair Value

Fair Value’s best form is on downhill tracks therefore Bath’s stiff uphill finish is unlikely to suit.

Fair Value might be best in at the weights for the 3.35 Bath but that is immaterial because the track will not suit her. Simon Dow’s mare saves her best form for sharp downhill tracks, whereas Bath is a stiff uphill track.

Fair Value Racing Post Ratings since 2012

Downhill racetracks: 93-95-91-97-95-97
Flat/Uphill racetracks: 80-82-71-69-36

If you remove her inexplicably poor run of 36, Fair Value is on average 24lbs better on a downhill track like Epsom, Goodwood or Folkestone.

I cannot see her producing anywhere near her best form on Bath’s uphill track.
