Bath Tips: Giennah
Green on debut but clocked the joint fastest closing sectional and half-sister is a two-time course winner.
Brian Meehan’s horses usually improve for the run and in Giennah he has a filly with some scope.
She ran a pleasing debut at Bath, slowly into stride she was green during the early part of the race but soon warmed to the task. She quickened well off a steady gallop and clocked the same final closing sectional as the winner despite having to be switched very wide after finding her path blocked.
In defeat, she earned a whopping sectional adjusted speed rating of 91 and although that almost certainly overplays her ability, she could be useful.
Her half-sister Rathaath won twice at Bath for Brian Meehan and her trainer has an impressive 28% strike rate (5-18) with his juveniles at the track. Jimmy Fortune has a 42% strike rate (5-12) paired with two-year-olds at the track and everything points to a big run.
