Chelmsford Tips: Giennah
Won well at Wolverhampton from a poor draw, recapturing the promise shown on debut at Bath.
Giennah’s had a stop-start season with a couple of good performances and two disappointments.
On debut she looked a potentially smart filly. She finished 5 lengths behind Barroche (subsequently placed in Group 3 company) and ran the same closing sectional after looking green early in the race.
She failed to build on that performance at Bath and Lingfield but a two-month break seems to have done the power of good; she started September by winning a nursery at Wolverhampton in good style.
The handicapper bumped her up to 80 after that win, but she was posted wide last time and has twice clocked speed ratings in the high-70/low-80s. She is still improving and can defy her new mark.
