Hamilton Tips: Sunraider

Two-time course and distance winner, already successful in this grade and still looks reasonably well handicapped.

The bookmakers are wisely ducking Dawn Calling in the 4.40 Hamilton. Mark Johnston’s three-year-old won his last start by eight lengths but it was only a maiden and it is difficult to judge the strength of the form.

A potentially false favourite has inflated the prices of the other horses and Sunraider is of interest at 16/1.

The 6-year-old has had problems, he is now rated 77 having reached the mid-90s earlier in his career but he’s been competitive this season winning two races over course and distance.

Hamilton’s stiff 6f suits him and he ran another good race at the track last month, he was only beaten by three lengths despite being squeezed out at the start.

He ran a funny race at Thirsk last time out, finishing well down the field, but at 16/1 (Betfred) there is some value in his price.
