Hamilton Tips: Kuraka

hamilton Tips: Kuraka

Bumped into a nice horse on debut at Carlisle but still clocked a fast sectional in defeat and could be useful.

When reviewing the 3.25 Carlisle on 7 September the Racing Post reported the race was, ‘run at an honest pace and the winner did it nicely.’ I’d dispute 50% of that statement.

Sectionals say the final 3f finishing speed was 106.6% of the overall speed, which is much quicker than par and suggests a slow-fast profile to the race. Where I wouldn’t disagree is that the winner Time To Study did it nicely.

In second place Kuraka also impressed on debut. He let the winner get first run but his closing sectional was only 0.21s slower and he earned an adjusted speed rating of 90.

After missing his engagement at Newcastle last night hopefully Karl Burke has found him an easier race in the 5.15 Hamilton.
