Hamilton Tips: First In Command

Been in red-hot form and would be 4/4 but for losing a photo finish on his last start.

The 9.10 Hamilton doesn’t look a particularly strong race for the grade, made even easier by the fact several of these horses are better over 6f. Bouncy Bouncy and First In Command make a short-list of two and it is the latter that I’m going with.

First In Command has enjoyed a purple patch in recent months, winning three on the trot in March before just missing out ten days ago by a short-head. The seemingly rapid improvement is simply a return to form. Once a winner off a mark of 80 in Ireland he is making the most of his generous handicap rating.

He comes into the race off a mark of 69, which suggest he is still well handicapped. He tends not to find much off the bridle so the stiffer track should help by slowing down the opposition near the finish.
