Grendisar Can Win Winter Derby
Grendisar had the measure of Festive Fare in the Winter Derby Trial and his record with Adam Kirby on the AW is 212121121.
Grendisar was a winner for us at the start of the month and there is no reason why he cannot confirm the places with Festive Fare and take the Winter Derby (3.20 Lingfield). He travelled better through the race and ran a faster closing sectional than his Godolphin rival.
Adam Kirby got the race spot on and their record together on the all-weather now reads 212121121.
Grendisar has a potent turn of foot as we saw when he clocked a blisteringly fast 21.57s closing sectional on14 November but isn’t inconvenienced by a strong pace either.
Last year he finished runner-up to the superlative Tryster and with nothing nearly as good, he can win again over his favourite course and distance.
