Goodwood Tip: Doc Hay

An unexposed sprinter who should come on for his first run in five months.

The 4.25 at Goodwood is a competitive handicap that should be run at a good pace. With plenty of front runners the six furlong track is quite often set up for hold up horses coming down the middle. Drawn in stall three Doc Hay fits the bill.

The Paul Cole four year old is lightly raced, having only his sixth start today and is open to plenty of improvement. A late starter, he first saw a race track back in October and has run consistently since.

After a five month break he returned at Kempton over six furlongs. In a race with at a muddling pace, Doc Hay pulled very hard running fresh after his long lay off. Despite this, he was only beaten a length, a commendable effort. With 13 runners declared, the big field should give him cover and stop him pulling so hard.

With the stable in fine form, four winners in the last fortnight, he looks set for a good run.
