Epsom Tips: Lady Gibraltar
Visor back on after a couple of excusable efforts. Previous course and distance winner and wasn’t beaten far in the Dash.
The weather forecast for Epsom this afternoon is grim. Heavy rain is expected and the 3.10 contest might cut up quite badly but at the morning prices Lady Gibraltar must be given a chance.
I backed her to win the Epsom Dash and although she wasn’t at her best she was only beaten by 4.75 lengths from a moderate draw.
She’s easily excused her last two performances, neither a stiff 5f at Sandown nor 6f at Warwick were to her liking; she’s much better over a sharp, downhill 5f.
Lady Gibraltar was third in the race two years ago and is a past course and distance winner.
Tim Jarvis’s string are in better form, with a winner and a couple of third places in the last fortnight and at 20/1 (William Hill), Lady Gibraltar is a big price if handling the ground.
