Epsom Tips: Lady Gibraltar
Has the early pace to capitalise on the best draw and will love the fast ground.
A low draw is a big advantage in Sandown (2.00) sprints but gate position can only be exploited by early speed and that leads me to Lady Gibraltar at 7/1 (Ladbrokes).
After the defection of Sir Pedro she will effectively start from stall 1 and I doubt anyone will get passed her. She has blistering early pace and will love the fast ground.
She ran an eye-catching race on her seasonal debut, travelling like the winner before tiring in the last 100 yards. I then backed her at Epsom but the overnight rain scuppered her chances, whilst a wide draw probably didn’t help either.
New Fforest and Taajub finished ahead of Lady Gibraltar in the dash but both struggled to go the early gallop and were flattered as they stayed on passed beaten horses, whilst Tagula Night has an excellent course and distance record but has never won in this grade, from 18 attempts.
