Ascot Tips: Majestic Myles
Has a 50% strike rate in July (4-8) and ran better than bare result at Epsom after forcing an overly strong pace.
Majestic Myles once hit a peak rating of 111; he is nowhere near as good now but still retains plenty of ability. Last season he won at Ayr off a mark of 85 and is 5lbs lower in the 5.00 Ascot.
A race for Lady Amateurs might not be everyone’s cup of tea but there is an edge to be found with horse and jockey. Hayley Moore has won the race twice in the last five years and was also runner-up during that period. She is a jockey to watch and has been paired with a live contender.
Last time out Majestic Myles set an overly strong pace given the good to soft conditions at Epsom but kept on well to finish a close sixth.
Majestic Myles tends to peak in July (4 wins from 8 races) and the better ground is also in his favour. Given all these positives he should be much shorter in the betting.
