Carlton House is the clear favourite for the Derby after winning the Dante by a length and a half.
The Queen could be in line to win her first Derby after Carlton House moved to the head of the betting. The colt trained Sir Michael Stoute is now 2/1 favourite after winning the Dante by a length and a half from Seville. The race at York is recognised as one of the most significant trials for the Epsom showpiece.
In a race run at a muddling pace Carlton House and Seville pulled two and a half lengths clear from the field as it developed into a sprint finish. With a pedigree laden with stamina the race was unlikely to suit Seville and the Aiden O’Brien colt remains an 8/1 chance.
World Domination was unable to build on his impressive maiden win and beaten into fourth by six lengths he is now out to 20/1 for the Derby. With the big race just over three weeks away Recital remains second favourite at 7/1 after his win in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial in Ireland.
