Chepstow Tips: Dishy Guru
Races off a career low mark and has run well on undulating tracks.
We saw yesterday at Brighton how clerks of the course can be profligate with the watering can and a similar scenario seems to be unfolding at Chepstow.
The GoingStick reading has gone from 10.1 to 8.6 as 2mm of overnight rain has fallen on already watered ground. This could cause the ground to become loose and it won’t suit the favourite Swendab who likes to blast and run on firm ground.
If the leader tires, it could set-up the race for Dishy Guru. He is the type of horse who travels well but tends not to find much off the bridle; therefore he needs those in front to slow down.
His best performances last season came on the undulating tracks of Epsom and Goodwood; therefore he should be suited by the rollercoaster ride at Chepstow.
Having reached a peak of 80, he looks potentially well handicapped racing off 61 and at 18/1 (BetVictor) he represents a value bet.
