Chelmsford Tips: Sir Billy Wright
Did well to win last time after getting involved in a pace-duel. His fellow pace-setter finished 8 lengths behind but won next time out.
Sir Billy Wright put in a huge performance to win last time out and he can go in again after a 37-day break.
The 4-year-old put in a huge effort, he duelled for the lead with Smidgen and after seeing off the favourite kept battling to win by a neck.
The finishing speed was 97.8% of the average race speed, which is much quicker than par and means he went too fast in the early part of the race.
To put it into context, fellow pacesetter Smidgen finished 8-lengths behind but won his next start.
A step down to 5f for the 8.50 Chelmsford is a slight concern but there are no other obvious front-runners in the field. If he gets the lead he will be very difficult to overtake.
