Lost his unbeaten record after enduring a nightmare trip last time but still clocked the fastest closing sectional.
Meadway is taking on horses rated in the 100s off level weights and although that looks absurd on paper (he is rated 92) there is logic in Bryan Smart’s decision.
His horse is 3/4 on the all-weather and opportunities to win a big pot are few and far between.
Last time he suffered his first all-weather defeat, over today’s course and distance but he was only beaten a length despite enduring a nightmare trip.
From stall six he was forced to race wide for the entire race. He covered far more ground than anything else but still managed to clock the fastest closing sectional. He is better drawn today and is a decent sprinter in the making.
