Chelmsford Tips: Madam Midnight
Ran a rapid 22.6s closing sectional at Wolverhampton and although she finished third she was 13 lengths clear of the rest.
There are some strong stables represented in the 6.40 Chelmsford but I wouldn’t be swayed by reputation because the runners supplied by Charlie Appleby and John Gosden both look moderate.
Madam Midnight has three consecutive third place finishes to her name but the last of those was most impressive.
David Simcock’s filly ran a blistering 2f sectional of 22.6s at Wolverhampton but couldn’t get to the leaders, who got first run on her.
She was the second fastest closer on the card and the form of the race has been franked. The runner-up was a comfortable winner next time out, whilst the winner Monaleen finished second in a class 3 handicap.
I’m surprised connections aren’t trying to exploit her handicap mark because her finishing sectional mark her out as useful.
