Chelmsford Tips: Eleuthera
Lightly raced and won in a fast time at the track in February. Patrick O’Donnell good value for his 5lbs claim.
The 7.50 Chelmsford is a good sprint handicap and brings together a young horse and jockey both on the upgrade.
Patrick O’Donnell enjoyed an excellent 2015, with 27 winners showing a heft level-stakes profit at an 18% strike rate. He’s an apprentice to follow this season and makes the journey to Chelmsford for just one ride.
Eleuthera is the horse in question and he is another moving in the right direction. A lightly raced 4-year-old he is making up for lost time and was an impressive winner over course and distance in February.
Tracking a strong pace, he saw out the race well, earning an adjusted speed rating of 81. He’s shot up the handicap as a result (races off 80) but his profile suggests he can keep improving.
