Chelmsford Tips: Chandrayaan
Not seen for a while but close second at Lingfield in the summer, made good headway from off the pace on a day that suited front-runners.
Chandrayaan isn’t a prolific winner (3-57) but when he scores it’s always at a good price.
He last raced 125-days ago but he ran an absolute belter in defeat. Ridden with restraint (usually prominent) he found himself with too much ground to make up and despite running the fastest closing sectional he failed by a head.
It was a fine display especially on a day when the Lingfield track was riding slow and favouring those ridden prominently. In four of the seven races on the card, the leader at the 2f pole won the race, Chandrayaan was 5.9 lengths in arrears at that stage.
This evening he races in a class 7 handicap and having won in this grade previously don’t be surprised if he pops up again.
