Carlisle Tips: Ponty Royale
Ran over the wrong trip last time but still showed up well, clocking the fastest closing sectional from a poor draw.
Ponty Royale had shown a decent level of form over sprint trips last season therefore it was a slight surprise to see her racing over 7.5f on her seasonal reappearance at Beverley.
The trip might have been against her but the challenge became even more difficult from stall 9/9. Forced to race in rear from a poor draw she could never get competitive in a race with a pace on the steady side of a true gallop.
Despite these problems she showed good ability to run the fastest closing sectional and finish fourth.
For the 8.35 Thirsk she drops back in trip by half a furlong and has a favourable draw against the inside rail. At 3/1 (William Hill) she is a fair bet.
