Carlisle Tip: Captain Scooby

Nothing to split him from the favourite and Carlisle brings the best out of him.

In the 3.10 at Carlisle, Captain Scooby is three times the price of Red Roar, yet only has a nose to find. When the pair met two runs ago at Beverley there was nothing between them and the bookmakers have got their prices wrong.

Despite being beaten by eight lengths last time out, Captain Scooby finished upsides some decent horses like Arganil and Doc Hay in a much better race than today’s contest.

Somewhat of a Carlisle specialist, Richard Whitaker’s gelding needs a stiff track to be at his best. He has won over course and distance before and the likely strong pace will play into his hands. Silvestre De Sousa takes the mount, which is another positive.
