Kempton Tips: Captain Scooby
Ignore his last three runs as they were at the wrong distance. Well drawn and should get the strong gallop he needs.
With Island Legend and Best Trip in the field, the 6.10 Kempton should be run at a furious gallop. If the race pans out as predicted it should setup for Captain Scooby to come from off the pace.
The bookmakers have priced him on his last three poor performances. That is a mistake. They were six furlong races, a distance he has a dreadful record at. Tonight he returns to five furlongs and should be much happier.

5 furlongs: 7 wins from 30 races
On 20 December, Captain Scooby finished fifth over course and distance. Badly positioned around the bend and shuffled to the back of the pack, he was given too much to do. Nevertheless, he showed his customary fast finish closing to within 3.25 lengths of the winner.
Drawn in stall two and in an easier race I expect Charles Eddery will ride him closer to the pace. With stablemate Best Trip setting the strong gallop he needs, he looks a good bet at 12/1 with Paddy Power.
