Races off a career low mark and Southwell suits him best out of the four all-weather track.
Captain Scooby has a modest record on the all-weather but he’s dropped to the sort of handicap mark he should be winning off.
On turf, Captain Scooby enjoys racing on soft ground and similarly his best all-weather efforts have come on the deeper fibresand surface. The 8-year-old gets outpaced early in his races so he needs a deeper surface to slow down his rivals.
This will be only the fourth time Captain Scooby has raced in class 6 company and after finishing a good fourth last time out, he could go close in the 1.00 Southwell.
