Brighton Tips: Salvado
Shaped with promise on his third run after a break and Tony Carroll has a terrific record at Brighton.
Salvado ran several good races over the winter and although he finds winning difficult the 4.30 Brighton isn’t a strong race.
After a heavy winter campaign, he was deserving of a break and his turf season didn’t get started until 6 July. He was well beaten on his first two starts back but shaped with promise when only beaten 2.75 lengths at Windsor a fortnight ago.
The 5-year-old could be hitting his peak and Tony Carroll’s runners always deserve respect at Brighton. Over the last five seasons he has a 21% strike rate (12-57) with horses aged four or older, producing a level stakes profit at SP.
Salvado is underrated by the market and is an attractive 10/1 with Betfair Sportsbook.
