Brighton Tips: Lionheart
A classic unexposed Cumani handicapper and the time he clocked at Yarmouth confirms his promise.
Lionheart is a worthy favourite for the 4.10 Brighton now that he has found his optimal trip.
Last time out he blitzed a useful field at Yarmouth by 3.75 lengths and the time backed up the visual impression that he’s a good horse. The time was quick for the grade and the sectional timings confirm it was earned in a fair manner.
The pace was good but not breakneck and if you compare the video to the race Minalisa won over course and distance a fortnight earlier, they are almost identical. Both horses quickened away from the field to win by a wide margin and although Minalisa carried more weight, she placed in Listed race on her next start and is a mid-90s horse at worse.
Lionheart looks equally fast and should be too strong for this field. A previous course win proves he handles the track and he will be hard to beat.
