Bath Tips: Where’s Reiley

Record at 5f in class 6 company is: 14171161113. Proved he could go on turf when short-head second on last start at Bath.

The big question in the 5.20 Bath is whether Picansort can capitalise on a turf mark that is 20lbs lower than his all-weather mark.

I’m not convinced he can. We had a similar scenario last year, he was good on the all-weather hitting Racing Post Ratings of 73, but when transferred to turf his best RPR was 53.

He should be better in blinkers but I need more evidence before diving in at 3/1.

A similar argument can be made for my selection Where’s Reiley, he is better on the all-weather, but he proved capable on turf when finishing a short-head second at Bath eleven days ago.

Having made most of the running he tired in the last half furlong, which was to be expected as 6f stretches his stamina.

Racing over 5f at class 6 level, Where’s Reiley’s record is: 14171161113. Dropped in trip today he should go close at 5/1 (William Hill).
