Bath Tips: Steel Rain

Disadvantaged by the draw on his last start but ‘won’ his race on the stand’s side. Probably better than the bare form.

There is no outstanding candidate to win the 4.50 Bath therefore I’m inclined to take a chance on Steel Rain at the prices.

On his last start, he was beaten by 4-lengths at Ffos Las but he was disadvantaged by a high draw that day. The field split down the middle with the four lowest drawn horses filling the first four positions. The remainder raced in a pack nearer the stand’s rail with Steel Rain prevailing by a length. It is hard to say what he beat that day, but he ‘won’ his side and that’s all he could do.

With 2 wins from 13 career starts, Nikki Evans’s charge has a better strike rate than most of his opponents and at 16/1 (Paddy Power) he’s worth the risk in a weak race.
