Bath Tips: Signifer
Handles soft conditions and the form of his last race looks strong.
Conditions in the 6.00 Bath will be testing, the official going description is ‘soft, good to soft in places’ but the Going Stick reading is the second lowest recorded at Bath in five years.
Not many of these horses have shown a liking for soft ground but Signifer seems to go through it better than most. He has not raced on anything better than good to soft this year but still performed with credit.
Although he finished only fifth on his last start the form of the race looks strong. The runner-up finished second in a valuable class 2 handicap and Newmarket, whilst the 7th placed horse has since won a class 4 at Sandown.
Signifer might turn out to be quite a bit better than his current handicap mark and considering he handles conditions he is the best bet at 13/2 (Coral).
